In April, Laura and I were invited to meet with Oklahoma brides at the Eleven Oaks Ranch open house and anniversary party in Luther. Our good friend Danielle Throckmorton did a wooooonderful job organizing the event and cleverly scheduled time for a mini photoshoot with a few of the vendors. (Pro tip: Anytime you get a group of wedding professionals in the same room, a shoot is bound to happen. It’s just what we do.)
Anyway, as big-time fans of collaboration, we’re pretty familiar with styled shoots – but this photo session had a unique twist. The model’s boyfriend decided to drop down and pop the question during the outdoor photoshoot! So romantic, right?! My heart can hardly take it.
Picture this – twenty sappy wedding pros with their noses pressed to the windows, hoping to catch a glimpse of the unsuspecting bride-to-be. Her back is turned to the camera for a shot of the train, and that’s when he steps in. The room goes silent as the soon-to-be fiancé grabs her hand from behind and quietly takes a knee. Startled, she turns to see her love holding out a tiny velvet box. With tears in her eyes, she says yes and cheers erupt from inside!
It’s seriously like a 90s wedding romcom. Wedding Planner, anyone?!
You can see a few of the highlights from this wildly emotional shoot below, but you better grab the tissues first. Last but not least, a huge shout-out to the incredibly talented vendors below who brought this faux wedding (and real proposal!) to life. You guys are the dream team.
